How it started

'When I traveled throughout Italy by train, I did it to understand the flavors and to experience as many restaurants as I could. What I didn’t anticipate was that Italians completely embraced me and my goal to immerse myself in their food culture, even as a foreigner. The gracious hosting which I enjoyed while catching up with old friends, making new ones and experiencing Italy’s welcoming hospitality which is so embedded into their cultural fibers of life.

There was one word that touched me because it was always associated with warm hospitality: ‘gradito!’ Meaning ‘welcome!’ Whether it’s ospite gradito – a welcome guest – or cena granita – a welcome dinner – it represents everything we love about Italian wine and food culture in just one word. That feeling of gradito made every meal taste like a Michelin star experience.

How Does Gradito Work?

Gradito is an end-to-end event and placement service for people who care about food. Our events start with a chef from the World's best Restaurants, available on your required date and who fits the mood of your event. Our planning team works with you to fine-tune the details and the menu.

How much does Gradito cost?

Prices start at  $1,700 for private chef experiences for up to 10 guests (pus the cost of ingredients). For larger groups, placements, or more complex menus, rates vary based on chef experience and event details.

Do I need to provide any groceries for the Chef?

No. Your Gradito chef handles all grocery shopping, cooking, and cleanup; you just get to enjoy the meal.

What should I tell the chef about dietary restrictions?
